Ohio and Wisconsin, October/November 2012
It was time again to travel to Ohio and work on the layouts in Canton. On my way up north, I made a stop at Entertrainment Junction in Cincinnati. Besides tending to the layouts, I also have a couple of meetings at Trainfest in Milwaukee to attend.
The usual layout diary starts with 6th November when I actually lay out some new track on the N-scale side of the train room.
Meanwhile, enjoy a photo gallery and a video clip about Entertrainment Junction.
A video clip (about 14 min) is available on our YouTube-Channel.
So far, not much has been done to the layouts. We had to run a couple of errands to expand the business and so we went to see hobby shop owners and a realty broker.
I everything goes well, we might be able to set up a holiday season display in a local (Canton, OH) shopping mall. This layout will be a simple over-and-under in 1:32 scale (#1-gauge) using LGB track. Unfortunately, the Märklin track provided with the train set is not very reliable and so we decided to go with LGB track. The decoration will, of course, be very "christmassy", with the track covered in snow, a small Christmas tree, candy canes, et al.
As far as the N-scale layout is concerned, there are a couple of locomotives to be converted to DCC, one turnout has to be replaced because the frog rail is broken (?!), and the engine facility with turntable and service tracks is due to be set in. All this will happen tomorrow.
